Holistic nutrition is the modern natural approach to developing a healthy balanced diet while taking into accounts the person as a whole, connecting mind and body. Our goal is to obtain results that have you feeling physically and mentally well, along with looking good for the long term. The word ‘diet’ has negative connotations that come along with it and often has the stipulation that it is a short term solution to get results fast, so we prefer to use the term lifestyle change. However, the true definition of diet is “the kind of food that a person, animal or community habitually eats”

A safe diet should include all of the recommended daily allowances for vitamins, minerals, and protein. The diet should be lower in calories (energy) only, not in essential vitamins or minerals. The program should be directed toward slow, steady weight loss. You can slim down fast without resorting to unhealthy trendy diets or risky supplements. The diet involves cutting out ‘toxic’ foods that encourage the body to store fat – including alcohol, sugar and processed foods. When it comes to achieving long-term weight loss, the only real solution is a healthy approach. Gradual weight loss through healthy lifestyle changes will produce long-lasting results not only in terms of pounds lost – you’ll also feel better.

Back in the day, people would eat what was provided in a natural environment that contained healthy nutritious food. Today the food provided in our environment has changed drastically. We aim to get back to more of a natural, whole food diet. Our intention is to teach and guide you to achieve proper nutrition so you can become healthy and balanced; losing weight in a natural and sustainable way. The older we get the healthier, happier and more balanced we become. Proper Nutrition is the basis for optimum health and well-being. Our mission is to help you learn about the nutrition you are putting into your body. When we understand why herbs and organic food choices clean and detoxify our body it enables us to feel empowered to keep learning to stay focused on our health journey.
You will receive a one hour nutrition consultation to get a profile started and a 2 week follows up afterwards. If you would like personal shopping and are interested in Skype nutritional chats a few times a week we can also incorporate that into your program as an additional service.
