Low Level Laser Therapy is a Non- Medical and a Non-Invasive modality. These workshops provide a guideline to assure safe and efficacious use of lasers for the health and welfare of the clients. It provides the standards of education in the use of laser therapy in pain management and Acupuncture. It is intended to provide guidance to practitioners and to reassure the public on the issues of education, competency, and quality of care in the use of laser in Health subjects. The curriculum outlined in these workshops is the standard of education in laser training programs at COL Center.

Laser therapy takes place in most countries like Germany, Canada, USA, France, Spain, Australia, Russia, Japan, and China. Laser therapy offers distinct advantages over the traditional methods because the procedure is pain-free and none-traumatic. The application of low level laser beams instead of traditional acupuncture needles to influence the flow of current at the acupuncture points is called reflexotherapy. Beyond conventional medicine, laser therapy is usually the preferred procedure for effective treatment of painful conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, arthritis of the knee, and chronic headache in children.
Most practitioners of laser therapy have an in-depth knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine, and a clear understanding of how various acupuncture points function. These workshops are offered to students with a background in acupuncture who want to expand their knowledge in Laser Therapy to expand existing businesses and practices.
This workshop provides the essential subjects in Laser principles which are basic for students requesting to attend other courses in Smoking Cessation, Weight Loss, Substance Abuse, Pain Management, Acupuncture and Cosmetics. This workshop will ensure all Laser Therapists have a thorough grounding in the basic science of laser. It offers a clear and thorough applied working knowledge of the science of low level lasers. This workshop will include in detail the basic concepts of laser, the properties of laser and light, classification, diagnosis and perform all types of soft tissue interactions with lasers.
Laser Therapy in Acupuncture:
Students will be trained how to use laser in Acupuncture. Students will have effectively demonstrated the ability to retrieve basic information from different laser machines and to calculate the amount of energy, dosage, power and power density. Also, students will be able to read and understand laser machine IDs, and working protocols for different applications. Students will be able to design the therapeutic protocols based on clients’ conditions and with different laser machines. Clinical Dosimetry exercises include demonstration and case study and must meet participation course guidelines. Practitioners must demonstrate competency by written and examination in the safety aspects of laser use prior to using lasers on patients. This is the level of education that defines the standard of care.
The Laser Therapy in Pain Management:
The purpose of this program is to provide the proper usage of laser therapy as a modality in pain management for practitioners who practice pain management. This program doesn’t offer training in pain management. The practitioners must follow the regulations related to the pain management. This laser program contains the education of the brief review of laser science, pain classification the physiology of laser therapy in pain reduction, the application of laser therapy in musculoskeletal disorders, therapeutic method (definition, classification, conventional method, and laser therapy), the advantages and side effects of laser therapy in pain management, laser methods, indication and contraindication, client consultation, pre and post laser therapy.
Home Study: Regular home study will be required.
Exam: Applicants will receive a certificate upon completion. There is an exam at the end of the course. Successful completion of this exam and fulfilling the entry requirements for Laser Therapy are required in order to gain certification.
